Part 2 Book Review of Dash and Lily's Book of Dares Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

I just finished the book Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. The ending was just as good as the rest of the book. I could not put it down and it really caught my interest. This book  had a lot of humor and fun built in to it. Dash and Lily are destined to be together. They share many common interests such as reading, chemistry, and most importantly having fun. The book takes place in New York City where all the action occurs. They love to be part of that scene. For example there was a collision between two people who walk into each other and Dash and Lily want to immediately record what they saw in their notebook. They are best friends, boyfriend and girlfriend and love birds. The two tell each other everything that is going on in their life and figure out how to solve it. For example Lily was very emotional. Dash told her to drink more tea and to watch less TV. That was a funny thing that he told her to do, but he was truly trying to help her. The characters are fully devloped by the author and by the end of the book you feel like you know these two people very well. Since the beginning of the year I feel like I have really exposed myself to a lot of different genres. I used to just want to read books with a strong female protagonist. This book has a strong female character but it also has a strong male character and really explores relationships. I am excited to be able to recommend a book which is in my original type of genre but more in depth. I hope that all of you will decide to read this. I wonder if it will be made into a movie like the other book from the same authors called Infinite Playlist. I think this would be a great summer read. What a great book to end the last blog of the year!!! Have a great summer!!! <3

Book Review of Dash and Lily's Book of Dares Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

           I recently started Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. It is a great book. This is by the same author as Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist. My cousin saw the movie and loved it. She told me to read this book because it is by the same authors. This is a book you cannot put down once you start it.
          The romance and humor in this book really make it enjoyable. The main character Lily places her favorite book on her favorite shelf at her favorite bookstore. She really enjoys giving dares to people to see how they handle it. The book she places on the shelf at the bookstore creates a love story. The book attracted a boy named Dash and he started to read it.  Lily and the Dash start to have a secret relation ship. The two have never met but feel like there is some chemistry between them. They leave notes to each other in the book. As the book goes on they create a duplicate book with a red cover so they always have one that they can pass back and forth with their love notes. This creates mystery and it is fun. Who would ever think that a book could start a strong bond between two very different people who have never crossed paths together. The love that they have for each other is special and complicated. Lily said it is complicated for a reason. That reason is, they do not want this to be a "public relationship rather a private." They have to travel all over New York to find one another's  book. I think that most people who are interested in humor and romance would really enjoy this book! I hope that you all read this book and enjoy it just as much as I am. This has been one of my favorite books this year!
