Book Review of The Fault In Our Stars By: John Green

I just finished the book called The Fault In Our Stars. I chose this book because a couple people have read this book in class. I am happy I read it. It is an amazing book. The main character is a girl name Hazel who has a terminal illness. As you can imagine the diagnosis was devastating to her. However, she wanted to live life to the fullest and make each day count. Unfortunately, she becomes extremely depressed. Her mother took her to the doctor and the doctor said that she should start attending cancer support groups once a week. She did as she was told and made many friends during this group. After going to a few of the support groups she said that it was boring and she did not want to go anymore. Her mother forced her to keep going. Hazel decided that was probably a good decision because she started to make many friends. One of her closest friends was Gus. Gus and she did everything together, and relied on each other. This was very important to her. It gave her a new perspective on things and made her situation more bearable. Sadly, Gus had a terrible ending. Hazel was very upset but she learned how to be a great friend to Gus.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I could not put it down. When this happens, I am so excited and know that I picked a perfect book. Although the book begins with the sad story of Hazel and her diagnosis, the book becomes more uplifting. I liked the character of Hazel because she is strong and nice and a truly believable character. John Green is able to make the story believable and the characters real. He is an amazing author. I highly recommend this book and hope you get it right away.

  1. Abby,
This books sounds really good! It seems a little sad, but truthfully sad which would make it really interesting to read. It seems like it is a non-fiction book at first. You did an amazing job describing the journey Hazel went through and how it changed her! Amazing blog!
